TrayScrap ("TrayScrap," "we," "our," or "us") is a dental scrap buying service operating in Southern California. We purchase precious-metal dental materials — including gold crowns, PFM restorations, and lab scrap — directly from dental offices and laboratories across Los Angeles, Orange County, and Ventura County.

This Privacy Policy applies to the website trayscrap.com and any related services we offer, including our referral partner program.

2 What information we collect

Information you provide to us

We collect information you voluntarily submit through our website forms or when you contact us directly:

• Valuation request form: full name, phone number, and email address.
• Referral partner registration: name, email address, and payment contact information (e.g., Zelle handle or phone number for commission payouts).
• Account creation: email address and password (authenticated via Firebase Authentication).
• Feedback form: optional name, email, star rating, and written message.
• Direct contact: any information you include when you call, text, or email us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, certain information is collected automatically by third-party analytics and advertising services we use:

• Device and browser data: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language settings.
• Usage data: pages visited, time spent on site, referral URL, and clicks — collected via Google Analytics (GA4).
• Ad interaction data: whether you arrived via a Google Ad and whether you submitted a form — collected via Google Ads conversion tracking.
• IP address: used only for approximate geolocation (city/region level) by analytics tools; not stored by TrayScrap directly.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, dental records, or any sensitive personal data beyond what is described above.

3 How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To fulfill your request: contacting you to schedule a scrap pickup, confirm an appointment, or provide a valuation.
• To operate our referral program: tracking referrals, calculating commissions, and processing commission payouts.
• To manage your account: authenticating you, maintaining your referral dashboard, and keeping records of transactions.
• To communicate with you: sending confirmations, updates, or responses to your inquiries. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.
• To improve our website: analyzing anonymous usage data to understand how visitors use the site and where we can improve.
• To measure advertising effectiveness: understanding which Google Ads campaigns lead to valuation requests so we can allocate our budget appropriately. This data is not used to profile you personally.
• To comply with the law: keeping records as required for business and tax purposes.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

4 How we share your information

TrayScrap does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) to store form submissions, authenticate user accounts, and send transactional emails. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's data processing terms.
• Analytics and advertising: Google Analytics and Google Ads receive anonymized usage and conversion data as described in Section 2. You can opt out via Google's tools (see Section 7).
• Referral program: If you were referred to us by a partner, we record which partner code was used. We do not share your personal details with the referring partner — they see only aggregate commission data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of TrayScrap, our clients, or the public.
• Business transfer: If TrayScrap is sold or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the site if this occurs.

5 Data retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

• Valuation requests: retained for 3 years for business record-keeping purposes.
• Referral program accounts: retained for as long as your account is active, plus 2 years after closure for commission record accuracy.
• Feedback submissions: retained for 1 year.
• Analytics data: Google Analytics retains data per its standard retention settings (typically 14 months); TrayScrap does not store raw analytics data.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).

6 Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses the following cookies and tracking technologies:

• Google Analytics (GA4) cookies: collect anonymous usage data to help us understand site traffic. These cookies do not identify you personally.
• Google Ads cookies: used to measure whether a site visit resulted in a form submission after clicking a Google ad. We use conversion-only tracking — no remarketing audiences are built.
• Session storage / localStorage: used client-side to remember your referral code (if you arrived via a referral link) during your visit. This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers beyond the form submission.

• All data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud), which uses encryption at rest and in transit.
• User accounts are protected by Firebase Authentication with hashed passwords.
• Access to customer data in our admin panel is restricted to authorized TrayScrap personnel only.
• Our website is served over HTTPS.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information to a commercially reasonable standard. If you suspect a security breach involving your data, please notify us immediately at info@trayscrap.com.

10 Children's privacy

TrayScrap is a business-to-business service intended for dental professionals and dental office staff. Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we may also notify existing account holders by email.
